With the forever impending start of DRS working commuter trains on the Cumbrian Coast, DRS ran some crew training runs. Booked to run Carlisle to Carnforth via WCML then back to Carlisle via the coast in the morning and then vica versa in the afternoon.
On this particular occasion after a loco failure at Carlisle the morning run was rescheduled to run to Preston and back via the WCML both ways. Here 47810 Peter Bath MBE 1927-2006 with 47790 Galloway Princess on the rear pull away from Oxenholme on the return from Preston, 14/1/2013.
